How SMILE can help in my Vision improvement? ( Smile lasik in delhi )

Now,   LASIK   is not for everyone, there are some limitations with it. LASIK works by reshaping the corneal surface, so in case of thin cornea, SMILE can be the solution. The Femto-LASIK treatment was only recommended to patients with the refraction up to a maximum of -8 diopters. While SMILE surgery can be done up to -10 diopters. When we think of returning back to work or play our favourite sport, SMILE has faster recovery when compared with  LASIK . Till recent past, Patients use to avoid the surgery just because of idea of blade on the eye. When lasers were introduced, it was a revolution. But then there were Laser associated drawbacks, which are now eliminated up to a level by SMILE.  Tag =  Smile lasik in delhi ,  Smile eye surgery in delhi

What is ReLEx SMILE? - Lasikdelhi

ReLEx SMILE is the latest development of  the  Femto-LASIK   procedure . SMILE basically stands for small incision lenticule extraction. It combines state-of-the-art femtosecond technology with high-precision lenticular extraction. It is often referred to as ‘bladeless LASIK’. SMILE procedure is designed to treat Myopia (Short sight) and Astigmatism within certain limits. Side effects of old generation LASIK like, corneal stability, dry eyes, or flap-related issues are reduced up to a certain extent. The ReLEx SMILE technique is performed using the highly precise advanced VisuMax femtosecond laser. It is the 3rd generation of laser vision correction after PRK and  LASIK Eye Surgery . The method was pioneered by Carl Zeiss Meditec and the entire process is painless, bladeless, and stitchless. This treatment method is chosen by those patients who have a fear of having a “cut” in their eyes. The Femtosecond laser makes a small “lenticule”, corresponding to the visual correction of the e

Recovery Phase after SMILE procedure is done - Lasikdelhi

Physical tissue  recovery in ReLEx SMILE is quicker when compared to LASIK. This is because there is not ‘cut’ or flap made. You will be able to see immediately after the treatment is completed and you sit up although your vision will be blurry. The small incision through which the lenticule is removed heals very quickly, by end of the day or next.  However in case of LASIK it takes usually 15 days. We will ask you to start using your eye drops later on the day of your procedure. Artificial tears can be used to keep the eyes well lubricated, in case your eyes feel dry or gritty. Few things to remember for speedy recovery: While going outdoors at least for a week wear sunglasses after the surgery. You may be a book lover but avoid any intense reading for 48 hours. After the procedure, it is advisable not to drive, as you will be more light sensitive. Now you have to avoid travelling for at least a week as you will be asked to come for follow-up visits. Stay away from any form of digital

What are the benefits of SMILE?

Minimally Invasive Procedure: As compared to  PRK and LASIK surgery , the SMILE is less invasive. During the  LASIK surgery , a corneal flap of 20 mm is created while in PRK, an incision of 8-mm is created. In the SMILE, the vision is corrected by creating only a 3 mm incision. No formation of flap: Although  LASIK surgery  is a highly safe procedure complication may arise in a few patients because of the flap creation.  SMILE  does not cause flap formation and thus, is safer, as compared to  LASIK . Odorless Procedure: Due to the corneal ablations in  LASIK surgery  through excimer laser, the patient may smell an odor. As  SMILE  does not use an excimer laser, the procedure is completely free from the odor. Fast recovery: As the  SMILE procedure  is minimally invasive, the patient may recover fast and the vision is enhanced within a day after surgery. The results of the  SMILE procedure  are like that of  LASIK surgery . Fewer complications: The patients undergoing  SMILE procedure  h

How Smile eye surgery procedure is done?

Smile procedure requires 2-3 hours of hospital stay. Just like LASIK, SMILE needs 5-10 minutes of operating time only per eye. It mainly comprises of three steps: Step 1: Creating lenticule Lenticule is a disc-shaped piece of corneal tissue. Firstly, eye drops are applied to numb eyes while covering the eye that is not being treated. VisuMax femtosecond laser will dock and you will feel gentle pressure but no pain. A green flashing light holds your gaze. Within a span of 25 seconds, VisuMax creates a refractive lenticule. This lenticule is made without affecting the superficial layer of the cornea. Step 2: Removing Lenticule The lenticule is separated from the overlying and underlying cornea with a thin blunt spatula without disrupting the corneal biomechanics The refractive lenticule is then extracted with forceps through a small corneal incision. The cornea structure remains undisrupted & stable. Step 3: Rehabilitation After the Lenticule removal, the cornea gets reshaped to corr

Stability of the Laser Excimer Laser is a gas based laser. Even after many improvements, it is not as stable as a fiber based femtosecond laser MEL 80 Excimer  laser  requires about six interventions in the year (including gas bottle changes) VisuMax Femtosecond Laser requires lesser interventions (Routine Check ups) Corneal Reshaping without ablation (Ablation VS Cutting) An excimer laser performs photoablation The photoablation rate increases linearly with fluence beyond a certain threshold Excimer Laser fluence and photoablation rate gets influenced by various factors –corneal hydration levels, humidity levels, the presence of organic vapors, the depth of ablation This results in a scatter affecting visual outcomes, especially for the treatment of high myopia. Regression may happens in high Myopia. SMILE  ® Uses cutting instead of ablation A binary process instead of linear Much less influence of any external factors Reflected in the tremendous accuracy achieved. Results are espe
